Reason behind...

The 2011 Census of India shows that 2.21% of our population has some kind of disability. Majority of these disabled persons are from rural areas or urban slums. Illiteracy, poverty, ignorance and unemployment are the major obstacles in their way to avail fully of the rehabilitation programmes sponsored by the Government or voluntary organizations.

Current Activities

Special School for Mentally Challenged: The present strength of the students is 78 who come from Kalyan and surrounding areas. The children have range of medical conditions like mental retardation, Autism, ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy etc. Most of the students come from financially weaker families. The school which started in 1985 was recognized by the Government in April 1987.

Support needed

The 1st phase will cost around 6 crores. A donor from Thane, knowing the good work of Sadichha has entered into an MOU of donating Rs. 2 crores for construction work. The trust has raised additional 1.5 crore from its well-wishers. Now we are trying to raise remaining 2.5 crores to complete phase 1. We are approaching donors like you for support.
